It’s been a busy month that led into the 1st round of games this past weekend. Lets go back 3 weeks.
The Marlins on a sunny Sunday afternoon had their official launch of the 2017 season at the ‘Marlins bar’, located at their major sponsors place the Manly Bowling Club. New club President Anthony Bergelin and new 1sts coach Brian Melrose addressed the fans and supporters about the season ahead and the opportunities that present the squad. The future of the Marlins looks bright…

This past Wednesday I was given the opportunity to assist with photographing the Official Intrust-rugby Shute Shield Competition for 2017. I have been in and around club rugby since the age of about 2 and was a privilege and honour to capture the afternoon. Everyone is tipping this to be one of the best and closest seasons in living memory. I’ll be there to capture the Marlins each and every week.

Finally the season kicked off on Saturday with Manly travelling to Southern districts for the 3rd year in a row. This 1st up fixture has always been a tough trip especially that due to the wonderful Sydney weather all grades and players were limited to minimal warm up games. Whilst the lower grades just missed out on the win, the main game saw the Marlins take control in the second half running away winners 35-17. Next up is the 1st home game at the iconic Manly Oval against power house club Sydney University. Will be worth the trip to the green. Hope to see you there!
